Anne Burrell, the well-known Food Network star and host of "Worst Cooks in America," passed away on Tuesday, June 17, 2025, at her home in Brooklyn, New York, at the age of 55.

At this time, the **cause of her death has not yet been disclosed**. Police responded to her Brooklyn home around 7:50 AM on Tuesday, where she was found unconscious and unresponsive, and was pronounced deceased at the scene by emergency medical services. An autopsy is pending with the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner to determine the cause of death.
Her family released a statement through Food Network, expressing their grief: "Anne was a beloved wife, sister, daughter, stepmother, and friend — her smile lit up every room she entered. Anne's light radiated far beyond those she knew, touching millions across the world. Though she is no longer with us, her warmth, spirit, and boundless love remain eternal."
The Food Network also issued a statement, saying, "We are deeply saddened to share the news that beloved chef, Anne Burrell, passed away this morning. Anne was a remarkable person and culinary talent — teaching, competing and always sharing the importance of food in her life and the joy that a delicious meal can bring. Our thoughts are with Anne's family, friends and fans during this time of tremendous loss."
Anne Burrell was born on September 21, 1969, in Cazenovia, New York. She was a prominent figure in the culinary world, known for her distinctive spiky platinum-blonde hair, vibrant personality, and no-nonsense approach to cooking. She hosted "Secrets of a Restaurant Chef" and was a longtime fixture on "Worst Cooks in America," among many other Food Network appearances. She is survived by her husband, Stuart Claxton, his son, her mother, and her two siblings.
